It’s not you, it’s me.  Honest. I just haven’t been in a blogging mood lately.  I haven’t even wanted to write that I’m not in a blogging mood because, inevitably, something will happen that I’ll want to write about.  So…

The New Girl and I have been taking walks during lunch, which has been quite fun.  She’s getting a new camera soon, so we’ll probably start going on photography walks.  Especially now that Spring is almost here – there are some beautiful Cherry Blossom trees by the Willamette that I want to photograph ever year. I just don’t have the courage to go by myself. (one of my quirks) Luckily, TNG is as weird as I am, so we end up supporting each other.  I was trying to think of a nickname for her and considered, albeit briefly – Pony: The Next Generation (or Pony:TNG). But…there will never be another Pony.  So, she’s simply TNG (the new girl).

Work is a bit crazy right now.  We’ve changed the nickname of the Board of Directors guy to DB (douche bag).  Why? He is. In fact, DB is too nice of a nickname for him.

Our fifth wedding anniversary is coming up.  B had proposed, and I accepted, only exchanging birthday and Christmas/Winter Solstice gifts.  We typically go on vacation around our anniversary so that is considered our anniversary gift; although the first couple of years we visited family (and while I enjoy most of my family – that’s not what I consider a vacation).  We’ve thrown in trips to BC and the beach, but haven’t really done anything too exciting.  This year, we had planned on going to one of the Disneys.  With things the way they are with B’s parents, though, I think we’re going to stick that on the back burner for a while.  I would like to do something different because we have hit the 5-year mark (longer than most Hollywood marriages), but nothing sounds exciting.  It’s more of a chore – pick a place, get the dogs to my parents’ house, travel, fill the days with activities, and come home more exhausted than we began. I would love to travel around Oregon and take pictures and, of course, the history major in me really wants to go on historical tours/trips/sites.  I love being surrounded by history. I just don’t feel like planning anything.

So, that’s about it for now.  My days consist of getting up, faking it through the day at work, going home, rinse and repeat.  I’m very excited about the end of Winter – the sun has been out more often than not lately – so, here’s hoping I actually work in the yard more this year than last (it seems that every year I am outside more than the year prior).

We’ll see.
